Four lines of service
From court-admissible reports to defending a trademark on the parallel market.
Forensic expert reports
Authenticity examination of product, packaging, labels and batch codes across three levels of analysis.
The core of the laboratory. Every report follows a written protocol: photographic recording of the sample, comparison against genuine reference items and, where the case calls for it, instrumental analysis of the fragrance. The result is a numbered technical report, signed by a court-registered expert, admissible in legal proceedings.
What you receive
- Numbered and signed technical report
- Complete photographic record of the sample
- Chain-of-custody record
- Comparative chromatogram from the gas chromatograph (level L3)
- Public verification code for the report

Specialist training
Specialist training activities and programmes for law enforcement, customs officers and institutional bodies, as well as companies and retail.
A fake is caught on the dock long before it reaches a laboratory. The training works on real seized samples and teaches the signals that separate a genuine item from a counterfeit: glass finishing, collar tolerances, label typography, batch code consistency, how the cellophane behaves.
What you receive
- Modules of 4, 8 or 16 hours
- Teaching kit with genuine and counterfeit samples
- Quick-reference field cards
- Certificate of attendance

Investigative support
Assistance during seizures, comparisons and reports supporting an investigation.
Technical support as a judicial police auxiliary, where formally appointed: evidence recording, sample selection, preliminary assessment of the products, quantitative estimate and technical minutes. Twenty years alongside prosecutors and law enforcement have produced a working practice that shortens the seizure and holds up at trial.
What you receive
- Attendance at the seizure
- Batch triage and sample selection
- Preliminary technical report within 48 hours
- Party-appointed technical consultancy at trial

Brand consultancy
Trademark protection, parallel-market monitoring and due diligence; analysis of the dupe-perfume and tester phenomena; monitoring of digital unfair competition and misleading comparative advertising (art. 2598 of the Italian Civil Code).
For maisons and distributors: mapping the parallel market for a given reference, test purchases on marketplaces and social platforms, verification of resale channels, due diligence on suppliers and stock. Added to this are the analysis of the dupe-perfume and tester phenomena and the monitoring of digital unfair competition and misleading comparative advertising (art. 2598 of the Italian Civil Code). Every acquisition is documented as an exhibit, so the findings can feed straight into legal action.
What you receive
- Parallel-market mapping by reference
- Documented and recorded test purchases
- Due diligence on suppliers and stock
- Analysis of the dupe-perfume and tester phenomena
- Monitoring of digital unfair competition and misleading comparative advertising (art. 2598 Italian Civil Code)
- Evidence file for legal action

Note · social initiatives
Education on legality and training: programmes in schools, run together with law enforcement, brands and trade associations.

Associated firms
A network for validating the damage
Forensis Lab works with associated law firms and forensic economists: the quantification of economic damage enters the report already validated by those who will argue it in court.
Who we work with
In service of the anti-counterfeiting system
The laboratory works where counterfeiting is intercepted: at customs, in investigations, on the shelf, and on the phone of whoever is buying.
