No seals or attestations are issued during the pilot. The verification report is confidential to your business: it is not an attestation and may not be shown to customers.

How it works
Four steps, one purchase
No announced visit, no questionnaire: the laboratory does what a customer would do, then what an expert does.

You apply on the site

A form in three parts: the business, the contact, the summary. Once we have checked that there is no conflict of interest, we email you the amount of the fee and how to pay: payment confirms your application to the pilot group and starts the 60 days.

We buy one of your products anonymously
within 60 days
In store or from your site, following the same path as any customer. We keep receipt, packaging and delivery: from then on the product is an exhibit.

We analyse it in the laboratory

In the expert's laboratory: photographic recording and a check beside the original. Where needed, chemical analysis with a gas chromatograph, under the expert's direction, at a third-party laboratory whose name and qualifications are stated in the report.

The outcome of the analysis and what was verified, in a report confidential to your business.
What if the outcome is not compliant?
During the pilot no outcome is published, except where required by law or by an order of the judicial authorities, or where there is a risk to health. The business receives the report of the findings and may apply again after fixing its sourcing.

How your application reaches us
Applications reach the laboratory's PEC (Italian registered email) address, forensislab@pec.it: once you have completed the three parts of the form, we prepare the email for you with your application already written out.
Who it is for
Shop or e-commerce
Physical shop
The anonymous buyer walks in, chooses, pays and keeps receipt and packaging. With several shops, you name the main one: the others are added on quotation.
E-commerce and marketplaces
We order from your site or from the marketplace profile you indicate, with documented delivery. The report names the channels verified.
Both? One application, one purchase per channel.

Once you have applied, we email you the amount and how to pay after the conflict-of-interest check, before any charge.

When the programme is complete
Planned by the programme, if and when it is complete: a seal for site and shop window, a public page with QR code, an attestation whose fingerprint will be recorded on a blockchain, renewal audits. None of these has a date today, and none is included in the fee.
No automatic renewal: any renewal requires a new written agreement.

Questions
Before you apply
What do we receive during the pilot?
One anonymous purchase for each channel indicated, laboratory analysis under our protocols (FL-P), still in development, and a confidential verification report, signed by the expert.
Will we know when the purchase happens?
No: the purchase is anonymous and takes place at any point within 60 days of payment, just like an ordinary customer's.
Is the cost of the purchased product included?
Yes: the purchase is included in the fee. The product stays with the laboratory as an exhibit and is not returned.
Why is there no seal yet?
Because our Code of Ethics rules it out until the programme is complete: first come the protocols, the rules of use and the public register. The pilot group exists to build them on real cases.
Is it an official recognition?
No. The pilot is a programme run by the laboratory: your business receives a technical report signed by the expert, not a recognition from public authorities or third-party bodies.
Can we tell our customers that we are taking part in the pilot?
No: during the pilot, participation may not be made public and the Forensis Lab and Trusted Seller names may not be used for sales purposes.
Can a business that has had training or consultancy from you apply?
Yes, once twelve months have passed since the last paid consultancy or training, provided that the business has no economic or personal relationship with the laboratory or the expert.
How do I pay?
By the method we email you together with the amount, before any charge: no payment is made on the site. The 60 days run from payment. The fee is exclusive of VAT: what it covers is set out above, under ‘Pilot-group fee’.
